Hi, I'm new here :D I have a Grand Am GT from 2003 and I love it. I take good care of it and get oil changes, rotate tires, and have check ups when I need to. I'd say I treat it like a B- out of an A+. I mainly drive it around town to work and back, and in three years I put about an average of 18 miles on it per day.

It has 74,350 miles on it or something now. How many miles can I expect to get out of my Grand Am? I plan on keeping it for good, just wondering if this is a good thing to do. Thank you!

p.s. also, how do I fix my cruise control, it broke during winter time (the button), and my A/C only works on 4 and 5, and my passenger door leaks water and rain through it so there's a puddle on my floor when it rains, if anyone could answer this too and how much repair costs for these are I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks!

nobody can predict how long a car will a car will last. When repair costs outway the value of the car it is time to get rid of it.
1. Sounds like you need a new control stick for the cruise control.
2. The blower resistor has to be replaced.
3. You have to find the source of the leak using a high pressure water hose.

I guess what I was asking was how long can I expect a Grand Am GT to last...150k? 200k? 250k? If it's well-taken care of, no wrecks, etc.

That's all I wanted to know, gracias.

200k is possible with good maintenance.

ford convert

I just recently bought a 2001 se v6 with 196k. except for a slight lifter tic till warm up it runs great and still smokes the tires.. no oil leaks or the anything of the sort. clean oil after 2500 miles. couple of minor electrical glithches thats it. so far pleased with car. add another ford conversion to the list. lol

I"ve read that before here. Wondering if this mtor has had work. I know they probably ran a flush through it but like i mentioned the oil is still perdy clean for it being a cast block. I'll check it for vac leaks. Thanx
