People,

1987 Sunbird GT non turbo, new belt in 2019, and with 42,000 miles. Hard to inspect because it is encased in that black plastic cover/shroud. Would you change it now?

Thanks for opinions.

Mileage wise your fine, age wise you have at least a year

Factory is every 60K miles ...I go by belt health ( cracking) mine had 20k and 12 years on my Duralast belt when I junked the car....still was fine.( Extreme Heat here)

Good to know, thanks, Mel and Doug.

You can check the belt condition easier near the crank pulley when you do oil changes, ( when you take off the small splash shield for the oil filter access)
