I have a 2001 Grand Am GT and love it. Its been in my family for four years now. We got it around 75k miles and now it has 117k miles and still runs strong. It gets fairly good gas mileage and costs around 22-25 dollars to fill up depending on the price. If you use cruise control it just sips on the gas and gets great mileage. Where i live the winters get fairly cold, any where from 0-32 degrees F, and it gets a little hard to start if you park outside. besides that I have had no problems with it at all
I just got a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am Gt,in very good contidions, the car is an automatic,4 doors, super confortable, spacious, you fill the thank with 25 bucks, all electric, sunroof, very smuth to drive,i like the car.
Common pontiac grand am problems are:
1. Heater controls have a resistor that burns out, causing the controls to not function
2. Wheel hubs/Traction control sensors - My 2001 is on its 4th, with 120000 miles
3. Water pump issues - some are known to go fairly early, but are easy to replace.
4. Hazard/turn signal relay goes bad - although there is a recall out for this one.
