I have a 02 grand am 3.4 v6. I had to take the radiatorhose off to get to tthe ABS module now I can't get air out of the cooling system what's the best way to do it? I tried running the engine with the cap of the reservoir and getting the car out. I also tried the bleed screw on top of the water pump. Trying not to take it to the shop just for them to bleed the air out of the cooling system.

Are you having an overheating problem because it sounds like you already bled the system.

Thanks for the reply.I had to take the hose for to get to the abs unit to replace brake lines. When I got it all back together and put coolant in . The low coolant light stays on and at times I have no heat blowing out.

When cold is the reservoir at the correct level?
It does sound like you still have air.
Just Google GM 3.4 air bleed and detailed videos will come up.

When cold it still blowing hot air bit once the thermostat opens it starts overflowing with the cap off. I'll look online to see if there anther way that I haven't tried.

Okay I think I got all the air out I was wondering at what temperature does the fans kick on at. I drove it today and after replacing the water pump and the coolant sensor. I was still having the low coolant light on and I tapped on the resovoer think and the next think I notice the light was off and not bubbling anymore the fans did kick on at about 230. I was hopping that was the temperature it was set to kick on. Thanks

Typically 215 to 225 and your gauge may not be accurate so sounds correct.
