How to jump solenoid 1986

Firebird? My solenoid went out the other day and I need to go to parts plus to pick one up today problem being I don't know how to jump it to get it to start. I saw my dad do it the day when we figured out that was the problem, all he did was stick a wrench down there and touched something. What do I need to touch? Theres a red wire going to it so I assume it is near there somewhere.

Suggest to get your dad to show you, or catch a ride to the parts store.

This is something that needs to be done right - a lot of energy is being transferred, and jumpering to the wrong point could be devastating to both the electrical equipment as well as yourself.
