I have a 2002 pontiac sunfire, i want it to sound louder but not sound retarded. How do i do this and how much is it going to cost? I have $150 limit, do i need to buy a turbo or supercharger or what? Thanks

Install a V8.
Get a cherry bomb muffler, it gives it a nice deep tone. Refrain from using one of those F&F "fart can" styles. We burn gas, not rice.

Listen to what the others have said.
Go to your near by auto parts supplier, purchase a new muffler and put it on. Better yet visit your local Midas, Meineke, or exhaust and have them put a new muffler on.

Run straight pipes after the catalytic convertor however such will present problems for Safety Inspections, but it'll sound meaner and stay within budget, otherwise just get those aftermarket fiberglass mufflers.
Turbo mufflers give a nice sound too.
