How to replace 4T65E Forward Band in a 99 Pontiac Montana minivan?

A piece of the band broke and I found it in the Transmission pan...

Remove the transmission from the car, completely disassemble and examine all parts, clean all components and replace any broken or worn parts, reassemble and install back into car.

I would suggest if you are Not fermilliar with the repair or dissasembly of automatic transmissions (which I am assuming you are not) take it to a repair facility as thye are very complicated and require many specialized tools to dissasemble and repair ..
