I have a 1970 LeMans and I want to put 10” wide tires on the back. Has anyone done this? Will they fit without modifications to the car??

Did you mean 10" wide wheels?
A 10" wide tire is a 245 which fits in the back, I have 245/60 x 15 on stock 7" rally wheels with 235 in the front.

A 255/65R15 which is 28.1” tall and 10” wide..

Are you the OP, because you signed in as a guest?

The OP said 10" wheel, you are giving specifications for a tire.

My original post states I want a 10” wide tire. For my 1970 Pontiac LeMans. With a pic of my car. It’s gold in color.

Could have sworn this morning it said wheel. Anyway I have 245 with no clearance problem so another 10mm is less than a quarter inch wider inside and outside and should fit. Why are you going with a 65 profile as opposed to a 60 profile?

Just what I can get my hands on easily with the tread style and look I want.

Are you going to change the speedometer driven gear in the transmission?

I’ll probably have to. The stock tires are only 26” tall and my back tires will be 28” tall and staying at 26” tall on the front.
