Hey everyone, I'm brand-new here and thought I'd say hello. I was curious if anyone could direct me where to ask technical questions on a motor swap in an '86 Sunbird (I know, but it's my wife's car so shut up. ) I'd like to replace the 1.8L maybe with the 2.0L, or if it's not a HUGE thing possibly the 1.8L turbo...

Turbo motors are all MPFI so a lot of changes would be needed like fuel pump, computer, harness etc would have to be changed.

2.0's are a direct bolt in up to 91, after that they went to DIS and CPS.
Not much HP change from a 1.8, 92 and up are more powerfull as they use the turbo's cam.

92 and up V6 are a better bet with a complete donor car to swap everything over. 3400 v6 is norm for a later upgrade.

Best to stay with your current type trans cause of more headaches.
