Got stuck driving through a deep puddle. My car died and I had to push it out to the side. Tried to turn it on two hours later and it wouldn't. Got it towed home, took the intake out (which held a gallon of water), spark plugs (three our of four were wet), it still sparks and has compression but it refuses to turn on. Does anyone know why? What else should I do?

There might still be water in the system. Take the spark plugs out and let it sit for a few days so that the water will natually evaporate. If you have taken the intake manifold off, be sure to clean all surfaces the manifold gasket is in contact with and put a new gasket in place. It should fire after that. Let us know of the outcome.

Okay, today I FINALLY got to drive my baby to wrk. My brother did an engine flush, replaced the spark plugs and changed the oil. Engine light is on and says that the 2nd cylinder is missfiring. I don't feel anything while driving but at a stop its not as smooth as what it was. Hopefully it will stop it after more driving. Plus, in another two weeks my brother is replacing the oil again. What are your thoughts on it?

changing the oil would be a good thing especially after a hydro-lock. However, for the misfire issue, I would check to make sure the spark plug wire to that cylinder is free of corrosion and all connections are clean (from the coil pack and the spark plug boot of the wire). Make sure the terminals on the coil pack are free of debris and corrosion as well.

I will have my brother check it out again, but I'm sure that he cleaned it. Maybe next time I fill up I'll use super and put a booster. Thanks again!
