I have a 92 sunbird that I love, i've put a lot of work into it and now my crankshaft position sensor is out and it seems that nobody makes that part anymore can anyone please help me find a crankshaft position sensor for my car. Thanks in advance

Doesnt that engine have a distributor? If so your car doesnt have a crankshaft position sensor to my knowledge.

No distributor Mel ,
it has one (CPS) but they dont list it anywhere............they list 93-94 though, I'm checking on the JBody board to see if it will work...........I'll post back if I find out anything.

Doing a search I found this place carries them , also that 92 is different than 93-94. Call to be sure if they do.......
Their part # is 22131 1992 Pontiac 2.0 OHC http://www.tomco-inc.com/
It only fits this engine 1 year , no other GM product.
GM part numbers are 10456098 or 10457237 I'll check on those also....

Doug you are the MAN brother my dads been a mechanic for 30 + years and he's never had such a hard time finding a part, my cousin Is a parts guy for 15+ years and he couldn't find anything. You guys have no idea what this means to me, now I don't have to sell my car.

Glad to help , you just have to keep looking, sooner or later you find a link to something that leads you to it. You take a break then come back looking again............................. you just cant give up............
