It is a 3.4 L V6. When I start it up it idles around 1500 RPM. As soon as I put it into drive, the tachometer drops down to around 1000. It was a very sudden problem. I just changed the spark plugs, but I doubt that would have anything to do with it. I have been researching and it looks like it may be a vacuum leak. How would I check for a vacuum leak and how would I fix it? Are there any other problems such as bad sensors that would cause this?
Thanks in advance,
Stephen

Your throttle body could have debris in it try some cleaner. Mass air flow sensor could be defective. To check for vacuum leak spray some WD40 around intake gaskets and hoses if there is a leak idle will speed up as WD40 is sucked into leak area.
