What could be the problem?
Um yes they do flood. Get out of the car section if you don't know anything about it.

Fuel regulator shunts extra fuel back into tank so injectors and system aren't over pressurized,if it isn't working right, car will seem to flood out.If your 'Bird is flooding, you may have sticky injectors staying open.Either run a good cleaner through the system or pull the injectors and inspect the tips.Another problem could be ignition coils not sending enough "spark" to plugs. You have DIS ignition and one of the coils could be weak or out making it seem your "flooding" out.

There should be a fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail that feeds the injectors - Start looking there.

fuel injected cars dont flood

Pull the vacuum line off of the regulator, if there is fuel there, the regulator is shot.
