...how long to engines last? have a 2002 Pontiac Grand AM with an ecotec 2.2 engine with 129,714 miles on it how long to engines last?
I use Castrol GTX high milage oil and yes I get the oil changed regularly. gonna get the transmission fluid changed soon and get bearings repacked, have not had the time belt changed and I just had a new fuel pump and filter put on it
bought it from my sister-in-law who bought it brand new... she said she took care of it and I think she did too cuz it is still in very good shape...but no I don't race or any crap like that...I bought it when it had 126,000 on it but I only paid $3000 for it
 
Your engine has the potential to go many many miles if you maintain it properly. Follow the maintenance schedule and don't dog on it and you will be rewarded with a long life.
