The battery light had been on for a couple of days and we haven't been able to see if it's the alternator or the battery. I looked on other sites and they said that it's probably the alternator causing all the lights to come on. My question is does anybody know if that may be causing the problem or is there something else that might be going on? The lights are on at the same time and the ABS one only came on today when I started the car and drove maybe a block. Another question with this is why would the ABS light come on if the Alternator is going bad? Thanks for any help you can give me.

The two problems are probably not related. Did you drive your car through any water? The reason I ask is that the ABS sensor will be located near the front tire brake assembly. It is not uncommon for the wire insulation to become worn and allow moisture to make contact with the sensor and that would cause a short and would light the sensor on the instrument panel. There can be other reasons also, like a faulty sensor or a faulty car 'computer'. You can hook up a reader to your car's main computer input and the system will indicate what caused the light to come on. These units run around $80-$90 at Walmart, or you may be able to borrow one.
