I just changed the blowwer motor on a 2000 pontiac grand am gt and now it

starts but shuts right off now what?
I changed the heater blower motor in my car. The new blower works perfectly. The problem is...Now my damned car will start and run for maybe ONE SECOND and then shuts OFF. It is almost like the fuel is being shut off.

I also noticed that my "security light" on my instrument cluster stays lit now. The interior lights, fog lights will not work now also.
This confuses the "H" out of me...I am STUMPED. Any good mechanics out there care to elaborate on this???

well as far as the security light goes...if the light is on when you are cranking the car its because of the passlock system. i get it on my car sometimes and you have to take the key out of the ignition and let the car sit for 5-10min before cranking it again (when the light turns off).

Sounds like the passlock sensor is having issues (it is located in the steering column) near the keyswitch assembly and should only be worked on by someone who is trained in the passlock systems and has access to GM scanners to reset the system .. I have to say you would be best taking it to the dealer..
