i own a 1986 2.5L pontiac fiero?

hi...im interested in maken my fiero a lil pep car...well i was wondering what motors off what car and the year of the car motor that can b used in a 1986 2.8 v6 fiero tranny and what motor will bolt on a 2.5L tranny (1986 fiero) i was wantin to swap motors with out swapen trannys

Nearly ANY GM engine can be swapped into a Fiero.
The ones that bolt directly to the Fiero transaxle are:
2.5L
2.8L
3.1L
3.4L
3.4 DOHC
3100
3400
3800
3800SC
Cadillac 4.9L V-8
Cadillac Northstar V-8

The 4.3L and the Small Block Chevy V-8 require an adapter kit that fits between the stock transaxle and the new engine.

For the higher power engines you might need to rebuild/improve the auto transaxle. The manual transaxles are good up to about 400hp.

The more popular swaps are the 3800SC and the SBC V-8.
