I have the option to buy a 1988 Fiero 2M4, it's yellow (only 489 made!) and it has only 25,000 miles on it! The owner told me to make an offer but I can't find any resources or web site on the value. I had the car checked out at the local GM service, the car passed with flying colors. Can anyone help to narrow down the value?

I don't know if this will help but an 1988 gt in the same shape is worth about $ 7,700.00 maybe this will vive you something to go by.

Thank you!

Thanks to both of you. Looking at the cars sold and their prices on eBay, the "Price Guide" is is pretty low.

The price guide is an average of what the Fiero's sold for for the past year.
So you have ones in excellent condition selling for higher amounts and ones that need work or someone just wants to get rid of it selling for lower. The price guide takes the average of the all of them.

That makes sense. I'm comfortable with my $5K offer (that was accepted BTW!) I will have one of the only 489 made yellow 1988 Fieros!

Confused!

I just read it on some web site that only 183 yellow Fieros were made in 1988. I thought it was 489. I did some research but couldn't find the answer. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

1200 Fiero's were painted yellow by the factory in 1988.
Out of the 1200 total:
528 were base and SC models (4-cyl)
489 were GT models
183 were Formula models

The rarest Fiero is a 1988 Yellow Formula with factory T-Tops. (63 made)

Thank you!

I would like to thank everybody again, your postings and private messages were a great help. I just got my new toy off the boat and it certainly was the right decision to buy this car. It's a 1988 Fiero, the base model in yellow, it has only 25,000 miles on it, and looks like a new car both inside and out! As an added surprise, I even got some throphies and plaques sent to me that the car won in the past!
