...recommendations? I just got a Kenwood KDC MP142, and want some speakers other than my current speakers which have all been shot (stock speakers). I don't want to have to get an amp or anything... I just want to know how many of what size and what kind I should get to cheaply yet qualititiously replace my stock speakers. Thanks.

I'm not sure what size speakers they are. I'm guessing 4x6. I'd go with some Alpine Type S, or Infinity Reference. The Infinity will get loud with little power, and while running off a head unit will sound great for the price. In my 2003 sunfire I bought speaker adapters and put in 5 1/4's but I doubt you're looking to do that. Have fun.

You will need two 4x6 speakers (one for each door) and two 6x9 speakers for the rear deck...your budget will determine which speakers will work best for you. go to crutchfield.com they will have all the speaker selection you could want for any budget. It depends on the type of music you listen to most of the time and what you are looking for, loud booming bass vs tight accurate bass is one thing to consider and if you want a 2,3,4,or 5 way speaker to cover the entire frequency range of the music. Give the tech guys a call, they know their stuff unlike alot of electronics stores, and they are priced just as competitively. Plus all of the stuff you order through them will come with vehicle specific installation instructions.
