i want to make my firebird v6 to v8?

i want to make my 96 firebird v6 into a ls1 v8 i want to know if its expensive to do this or the price on this type of job?
 
I believe someone else asked the same question and the price was around $6,000, you are better off buying a car already equipped with a V8
