Cold-weather (October to February/March in this climate) makes it so I have to hold onto the key in the ignition and keep forward pressure on while driving it to keep the vehicle running....
Meaning after starting the vehicle, when the key moves back to the 'on' or 'run' position (whichever term is correct) in colder temperatures in the winter, the engine shuts off. Chinook weather where temperatures are warmer in the winter (above freezing) then it sometimes isn't a problem. Driving short distances is okay, but of course this isn't safe. Not sure how to start addressing whether I can fix this on my own or whether it would need to be taken into a shop. Taking it into a shop is not an option financially.

Any help would be appreciated.
