I'm New - Checkout My 64 Catalina Convertible

Hi all, just picked up my 1964 Catalina convertible and wanted to share my excitement.

From the pictures it looks pretty perfect, but when you get a little closer you can see all the little things it needs.

I'll do my best to document everything that I do to it.

So far, here is what it is on my list.

• Convert the fuel system to EFI to gain a lot of reliability while keeping most of the original parts
• Upgrade front brakes to disc
• Replace the stock radio with a reproduction with Bluetooth and amp hookups
• High end audio system (read: loud!)
• Replace the carpet
• New interior
• New rims
• Re-chrome everything
• Repaint it and add more clear coats
• Fix the convertible top so its automatic again. Someone unfortunately removed a lot of the automatic parts on it.

I'm not too concerned with keeping it all original. I'm buying this car for me, and have no plans on selling it ever. I will be keeping any original parts I happen to remove just in case though.

My first car when I started driving was a 62 Catalina, and unfortunately at the time I was 18 and couldn't afford all the work that it needed done to it (completely rusted out frame) so I sold it for a few hundred dollars.

One of my biggest regrets. So when I came across this gorgeous 64, I had to have it.

I love your new to you car, it seems the Catalina found the perfect owner to care for it.

I agree with making the car yours and enjoying it.

Just do not make the music so loud you drown out the sound of the exhaust

I'm jealous. I had a 64 hard top back in the day. same color, and I sure miss her. Have fun with it. But don't try to do everything at once. do one thing at a time, so you can still drive and enjoy it, while you make it your own.
