I need to find where i can connect some wires, and it looks like there is something in front of the fuse box, up under the dash just next to the brake pedal, and I am wondering how to remove it. am I right, the fuse box is behind some thing with wire connections all over it?

Can you post a picture, might be aftermarket.

The first picture shows what i think is in front of the fuses, the second picture shows where it is in the car. so if this thing is covering the fuses how do I remove it, to get to the fuses?

There is a small panel to the left of the steering column under dash that has to be removed, have you done that?

I that the panel, the thing in the picture? This on the left of the steering column. my 74 El Camino and chevelle both have the fuse box right where the grand prix has this box, that is why I am thinking the fuses in the pontiac are behind these wires.
Notice there is a circuit breaker type fuse plugged into it, and just above that is a buzzer alarm.
I did notice the pontiac wiring is totally different than a chevy.

Thanks for the facebook help, he said his 1977 Grand Prix was the best car he ever had, or something like that.
Im going to leave these pictures here, so someone in the future can see what we are talking about.
The first picture shows the panel, and the second shows the fuse holder, the third shows the fuse order and amps.
You can pull on the bottom of the holder and it snaps out on a plastic hinge so you can add more wires to it.
This is where i connect my Tachometer.
thanks again for your help
