hey guys i just purchased a 2009 pontiac Montana now i didnt take the option for DVD player since it was $1000 more so instead i found a wrecked one and bought the dvd player for $100 now my question is are the wires to plug it in under the headliner? do i just cut a hole and thier they are and i can plug it in?

No, You need to go back to the wreck and grab the 2 wiring harnesses.
To swap over a stock DVD system you need the DVD player, The drop down screen, The harness that goes from the DVD to the stereo, the harness that goes to the screen, and you may need the stereo if yours does not have the DVD input on the back. Not all stereo's have the DVD controls in them.

The parts of the dash board, the right side kick panel, and the headliner all need to come out so you can install the harnesses.

pin outs

Hi guys,

I also bought a dvd player but no wiring came with it and i am having a hard time finding them. Do you know the pin out for the 2 connectors on the dvd player all i want to do is power it up and use the wireless head sets for the audio, i do not want to hook it up to my radio.

I do not have rear air and it is a 2009 short wb.

thanks

The only way for the wireless audio to work is for the DVD player to be ran through the radio in the vehicle, otherwise you will not have any sound unless you want to run an independent set of speakers for the DVD player.

That is not correct. The stock DVD screen and rear seat controller mounted on the overhead has the wireless output. If you disconnect the aux input from the DVD player to the dash stereo you can still hear the DVD with the headsets. You just can't hear the radio because channel 2 would be disconnected.

I don't know of a schematic online. Possibly go to the local library and photocopy one from a factory service manual. That what I did to get the schematic for the rear parking sensors when I had a problem with them.
