Just purchased 79 301 firebird for my son, it an all original car that runs but needs some love. We got it started and the intake is leaking coolant by the head so I imagine the gasket is probably no good. So we are thinking about swapping out the intake and carb since we have to pull it off anyway and get rid of all the vacuum lines and charcoal canister. Any intake and carb suggestions for bone stock 301? We would like to put a four barrel on but not sure if it would be to much for it.

Unfortunately the 301 is different than every other Pontiac V8. You will have to find a used factory 4bl intake.
