Mom has a 2002 montana, 3400 v-6. Bought it new and only has 80,000 miles on it. For the past 8 months, it has this intermittant no start problem. It never happens cold, only after she has drove it to the store, or exercise class or wherever, sometimes she will come out to go home and it will crank and crank but wont start. It will always restart within an hour, but not till its ready! It never quits on her, just no start sometimes. Have had it to the shop many times and they cant figure it out. Replaced the fuel pump, fuel pump relay, ignition switch and ignition module, still does it. I happened to go visit them the other day and dad said she was stuck at the store and it decided to not start again, so they had aaa tow it home. I checked it out, the fuel pump is indeed running like it should. I cycled the key 10 times and the pump sounded as it should. I pulled a plug wire and checked for spark, and sure enough, it is sparking! So, Im thinking something is keeping the injectors from firing. So their neighbor mechanic came walking over and i told him whats up, he ran over to his house and got his scan tool so we could actually see if indeed the injectors were not firing, but when we hooked the scan tool up, it decided to start! So now we have to wait for it to decide not to start again and grab the neighbor to hook the tech2 up. This has stranded her dozens of times and the van has been to the shop for weeks on end and never any resolve. oh, and the theft light never comes on and there has never been any codes thrown or stored. So all i know is the fuel pump is new and it is running and we do have spark..Any help would be so much appreciated at this point.
thanks

The best bet is your neighbor's scanner otherwise it's pure guesswork. My guess would be crank sensor.

they may fire at the wrong time, again you need to use the tech2 scanner.

It could be cam shaft sensor, code PO341, that code should be there until you delete it so scan it or clear all codes and run it until it happens again and then scan it.
