Hello everyone, need some help with this one!
I have a 2001 Firebird 3.8 liter manual shift with 100,000 miles. My problem is an intermittent mix of temp. gauge, fuel gauge, RPM and speed gauge loss, or erratic movements of each along with a sometimes drop out of the engine. This can be any combination of the above. When the engine starts to misfire or just drop out, I push the clutch and watch what happens with the gauges, sometimes giving it a rev up, or use the clutch to restart the engine. When things get back to normal, as a test, I can floor it from 60 to 85 m.p.h. with no problems. I did notice the oil and voltage gauge are not dropping out. I changed the crankshaft sensor, that did not help. When driving normal, I sense a very slight difference then what the engine use to feel like, almost like a micro misfire. Also get check engine light, reduced power light, service engine light but these are random also. Pulled the codes at autozone P0500 Speed Senser circuit, P0107MAP/MAF, P0452 Fuel Tank Pressure. I think these codes are thrown just because of the crazy things that happen from this problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rick

the speedometer loss and the P0500 are directly related and this will also cause other operational issues including RPM loss.

Do you any of the symptoms related to P0107 http://www.obd-codes.com/p0107
It could otherwise be a wire harness issue in dash or fuse box or cluster motor failures.
Hard to isolate a more sophisticated scan tool would give more information
