Intermittent Tranny disengagment

After coming to a stop , tranny occasionally disengages like put into neutral, then car must be put into park and shut off. When restarted works as should. Does not seem to be a heat issue, as happens when cold or end of a trip. But very intermittently.

No idea what year you are referring to but have you checked the fluid level?
How many miles since you changed the fluid and filter?

Yes, had fluid and filter changed last week.

did the problem exist before the filter and fluid change?
did the shop make any comments on the condition of the old fluid or anything found in the transmission pan?
did the shop scan the transmission for any codes?
how many miles on the car?

Could be a solenoid failing too
