Is it possible that a past accident in my firebird has affected the way it drives...

...today? I bought an 01 firebird in june. I just recently found out through carfax that it was in a right rear impact accident in 05. Can this affect the ride quality or performance of it today? After finding this out I kind of no longer want the car. Am i over reacting or is it a big deal?

Well, since you've already bought it - does it drive 'funny'?

If not, let it go. If so, have a qualified mechanic give it the once-over to see if anything wasn't repaired or re-aligned correctly.
