(pick me as best answer, hehe)

Its really not that hard... Try to find a used 6 speed from a 93 or newer firebird or Camaro. Parts and labour should be around 2000 or so after the cost of the tranny...

Probably the most cost effeciant way would be to find a donor car in a salvage yard any 70-81 camaro or firebird with a stick shift would work ..
the problem is they are getting increasingly hard to find in salvage yards
and aftermarket suppliers get top dollar for reproduction parts ,
to do the swap you need ...
A steering column and bracket for clutch and brake pedals the associated linkage for the "Z" bar (cross shaft) that actuates the clutch diaphram and the brackets and ball piviot that goes in the block ..
also you need a complete (probably 4 speed transmission) 3 speeds were available but most were 4 speed Borg warner super T-10s , and a shifter assembly ,bellhousing, and possibly a different driveshaft to mate up with it ..
Im assuming you want an original type trans as putting a 5-6 speed trans is Quite a bit more involved as they never were offered in the 2nd gen body style ..
I believe all the parts to do a conversion are available from aftermarket companys like Classic Industries, and Original Parts Group.. but arent cheep with a T-10 it will probably cost into the 2-3K range although you can find used trans for less.. Good Luck!
