Is it still worth getting the V6?

I'm obsessed with the car, really love how it looks. Don't care about power, don't really want the v8 to be honest. I seen one near me with low mileage and it's the v6 version. Did some research and read that it is known for timing chain issues. I really want the car BAD, but the timing chain issue really might make me pass on the g8. How bad is it? Would it be worth it to still pull the trigger while getting my mechanic take a look at it's timing chain just to be on the safe side. By the way, if I do end up getting it, it will be my daily.

Tons of information already out there on the LY7 engine through Google, including videos, it was used in multiple GM platforms not just the G8. You didn't mention year or mileage or the availability of maintenance records for this car. As you already indicated your mechanic will have to physically inspect the engine.
