Is something wrong with my Pontiac Grand Am in gas?

so i bought this Pontiac Grand Am 2001 2 doors and has 6 clynders and i this was what happen i put gas last night it was close to be full and then i drove it today like a few ups and downs and while driving i was noticing like its killing alot of gas is showing like it a quarter away from being empty and im just wondering is it the fact that there something wrong with the car in wasting a lot of gas or something else idk? its my second car so im just berly learning

exactly how many miles per gallon are you getting? Fill the car, write down the mileage on the odometer, when you fill the car a second time see how many miles you went and how many gallons it takes to fill. Divide the miles by the number of gallons.
