montana? so i can use regular (ace hardware key) keys instead of the oem pk3 keys.

Generally NO, but I have seen some techs do it, usually as a side job as GM frowns on bypassing systems and it would also negate any warrenty you may have left ..
but it can also cause issues if not done properly and is not something you could do your self in most cases..

You can buy the blank keys from ebay much cheaper and have them cut at your dealership or Ace or a real locksmith...someone who might warranty their work so that when they screw up your $10 blank, they buy it from you.
