• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Hi all.

David here, from Port St. Lucie, FL.

Been a Pontiaddict for a while now. We just got home today from the dealer, getting a new vehicle for the wife (Montana SV6, red/grey). This makes 3 Pontiacs at the house (the others are a 1992 Grand Prix LE, maroon/grey, a beater car at this point, and a 1977 Trans Am, black/black, 400, auto, in process of restoration).

We've had pretty good luck with our Pontiacs. The GP recently had a fuel pump replaced but that's been the only thing for a few years. We intend to drive it "til it falls apart". As for the T/A, I've been considering selling it and getting a Can Am, but we shall see.

I also post at the TransAmCountry.com and ABodySite forums using the same name. They're both good sources for second-generation T/A-Firebird and 73-77 Lemans/Grand Am/Can Am info.

OK, one question! How do you do signatures on this forum? I looked but did not see the option available, though it did mention it. Thanks, and I hope to be a good contributing member here.

Hi there! :)

Oh sell the 77 to me me me me!! :D
Kidding, I wouldn't be able to afford the bird right now, but I would like to have one in the future and it's black on black and you want to get rid of it?!?! Shame on you...hehe :p
Have any pics?

~ Take care ~
Always great to see Pontiac families

The T/A needs work...though the engine is tight. My dream car is a '77 Can Am, though. I had a '77 LeMans years ago and loved it, but unfortunately that was during my salad days when I couldn't afford to get the engine replaced and it was cheaper to get another beater car. I've loved the A-body style of those years since.

Not to say I don't like my T/A...it's a project car, and I'm having fun (?) working on it. Replacing the steering column which should also restore functionality to the turn signals and horn. The tilt steering gave out and nuked all the top end wiring so I figured it was easier to replace it as aa unit than rebuild the column. (Yes, I'll keep all original parts!)

It needs body work, as there's about 6 small spots of cancer, but the pans are all solid, as are the rocker panels, jambs, etc. Some work needed on the cowl. Interior will need a new dash, carpet, package tray, seat covers and eventually a console, though I might be able to work on the small area that needs it. Will also take out the B&M shifter and restore an original one.
Will also need to get the front flares, new grilles eventually, and I want to replace all weather stripping. It's likely I'll upgrade it to power windows and locks too. Lots of work and some $$ yet, but not nearly as much as some I've seen.

Welcome aboard! Thank you for signing up.. Let's see some pictures, okay?

Hey Dave, just got a 75 trans am to restore--lets talk/encourage/complain!!!

Welcome, Shirley!Mine's a '77 as you probably read above. If you look in the Firebird/Trans Am section you can find the thread that has a picture of the car. Also there's several postings where I've discussed the condition of the car. What shape is yours in?
