Key fob question

Hello everyone!

I just got a 2002 Montana however it did not come with a keyfob. The guy I bought it from is the 2nd owner and told me he got it that way so he doesn't know if it ever had one.

Is there a way to see if my Montana will take a keyfob? I see them for fairly cheap on ebay and read about how to program it.

The van came with power locks but no power sliding doors if it matters.

I had a 2000 that had power locks and no power sliders and came with no key fob. The one way I know you can check is to run the VIN through the dealership and they can tell you . Then if it did come with one I believe it is as simple as programming a new one in the EPU.

Thanks! I called a GM dealer and all they needed was the last 8 digits of the VIN and they confirmed mine should work with a key fob.
