To make a long story short, it was unnoticed that the car was still in reverse when it was shut off, and when the key wouldn't come out (because the car was in R) the key was force-pulled out.
Once the car was put in P and the ignition back in the 'off' position, the key would no longer turn. It's like the key does not get recognized.
I went to the dealer, and they made me a brand new key from dealer specs and that did not work either.
I also tried WD40 to losen up the inside incase something was stuck, and still no-go.
Is there anything else I should try? Also, I do not want to have to replace the lock and the ignition switch if I don't have to, but it looks like I need to be able to move the key to the 'on' position in order to pull the lock out. Am I going to have to replace both?
