My keys ended up getting locked into my '01 aztek, sport edition. I wedged the door to crack it enough to door hanger the rockerswitch lock - also tried a stiffer plastic rod. I for sure hit the rocker back and it didn't unlock. i then had a taxi lockout service attempt to open both doors by wedging the door, he used a stiff curved rod made specifically for this kind of job and the doors didn't unlock, didn't hear the parts move like I always do. one funny thing though is i hear it lock when the switch was hit forward.
I'm going to try a locksmith tomorrow which is going the expensive way now instead of giving the taxi guy a 20 dollar bill.
my main question is why doesn't it unlock while wedged? i imagine it might be some kind of anti-theft action, the doors sense they're wedged and won't allow for the unlocking if the switch is hit kind of thing. can anyone confirm this or have any idea why this is happening? also, if anyone has any ideas how to get into the dang thing please do advise.
