Hey, just figured I'd ask here, has anyone done a later model car (late model RWD car) console swap? Any idea's of what car to look for to get a console out of it?

I'd really like to do a late model console and seat swap in my 71 LeMans Sport sometime soonish. I'd imagine something like, for example, 93+ F-body consoles would work. Or possibly even like a console out of a Blazer/Jimmy might work.

I think you are going boldly where no one, or few, have gone before. Good luck.

Haha, eventually I'll put her back to factory condition, but for now since I'm under time and money constraints I wanna atleast do something cool like this, plus I'll get cupholders! I'd imagine that GMC Jimmy/Blazer/Bravada console would be one of the best for it due to them not having a handbrake.

Originally, she was a bronze color with a white vinyl top, green (or white?) bucket seat w/ console interior. Now she is gonna be white with a black top with a 70 LeMans front clip (the original enduro nose was unfortunately sold before I got the car)

this is what it originally looked like (minus the GTO emblems, and spoiler)

What happened to the original console?

Unfortunately they were in storage, and the person temporarily storing them for me decided to scrap them (side panels, seats, console) among other parts as well. I have seats (bench for the front) and all side panels, not correct for the car, but look pretty good in it. But I'd rather have buckets and a console then a bench seat.

Yeah, I'd like to have cupholders though haha.

I'll probably get an repro console when I get the money to restore it to factory (besides the engine, I like the 455 more than a 350)
