Leaking fuel line - 2000 Montana

My Montana recently started leaking fuel at the joint of the nylon and metal fuel lines ... the metal line appears to be rusting through. (the junction is just behind the left front tire behind a "bulkhead")
Pontiac has discontinued the metal line. :P
Any thoughts on how to repair this issue would be greatly appreciated.

parts store sell lines and splice kits, cut out the rusted section and replace it.
