I am bringing back to life a 1966 Le mans with a 326 2 barrel V8, 80,000 original miles. I changed all the filters. Did a complete tune up and had the car running perfectly. I decided to put some Marvel Mystery Oil to clean up any sludge that might be in the engine. I put in the MMO and ran the engine for around 30 mins. I turned off the engine and came back the next day to start it back up and it wont start. The engine turns normally but will not start. I check for fuel and spark and they all are normal. Any ideas on what happened?

Thanks.

The choke is working.
I put the MMO in the oil. Put in half a quart of MMO with 5 quarts of oil already in the car.

Thanks..Mike

Remove all 8 spark plugs and see if they are fouled and correctly gapped to .035.
When you open the throttle by hand you see gasoline squirt into the carburetor throat?
Have you connected a timing light and had someone crank the engine to see if the timing hasn't shifted?

I removed the plugs and installed new ones gaped at .035. I see gas squirting in the carb and I also tried starting fluid.
I have not checked the timing. Thanks for the suggestion. I will check the timing tomorrow.

When you did the tune-up, you set the points with a dwell meter?

If it does not fire with starting fluid, it is probably an ignition issue, Points, timing, coil, and dwell.

I will go back and check the ignition again. I went thru everything before but will do it again. The car was running fine. Two days later it wouldn't start. Thanks for all the suggestions.
