Pardon the error. Was reading the lift at 0.050 Intake. Thanks for the link. The WG1113 cam specs are the same as those on my spec sheet.
XS Block, Compression Ratio: 9.2:1, HD Dual Springs, small valve. Org camshaft was a 9777254. Did not read the casting numbers yet.
I indexed the whole train, but still the dist must be set at between 14-18 DBTDC in order for it not to ping. Acceleration is mediocre with lots of black smoke.
Engine had original 2bbl with cast iron manifold. I swapped it out back in 1995for an Edelbrock Torker and a quadrajet. It ran fine until five years ago when I swapped out the cam and switched to a Edelbrock Performer carb. Things went to hell from there. I shifted back to quadrajet, but nothing, I now have the Holley. I thought a simple swap would do it. Clearly the easter-egging is not working. Folks are telling me the cam is not the issue.
