Looking at a 1988 trans am with 140,000f mi for $900 good buy? how long do they

typically last? Had to jump the battery to get it to start and has all original parts very little rust thinking about snagging it n throwin a shift kit on it and a nice black paint job. What would be some good questions to ask seller and anything for me to look for on the car specifically?

As with any vehicle "IF" they are taken care of they can last quite some time
with normal maintenence I have seen some go 180K without issues (350s or 305s) the chevrolet engines are pretty much bullet proof, although the transmissions (autos) leave something to be desired longevity wise if the trans is original I would check the fluid and shifting to be sure it is OK otherwise be prepaired to swap in a different one or rebuild it ...
