you may needto drop that oil filter and probably pull some of your spark plugs and maybe even drop the starter. there should be no need to jack up the motor. Hopefully you got the long headers that will meet up with your pipes

It's an easy thing to do, if you know the tricks.

- First of all, lift up the entire vehicle (not just the front) and use HEAVY DUTY jack stands. If you have the cheap sheetmetal type, get rid of them now and get some quality cast iron ones.
- Take the new gaskets and clip the bolt holes on the ends on the bottom so you can get the end bolts started and then just drop the gaskets in.
- Usually lifting the engine is not necessary, but if your mounts are worn, you may have to. Just simply remove the crossbolts and lift up the motor a tad with either a hoist or a floor jack and heavy piece of plywood on the oil pan (not recommended).

Passenger side:
- Remove oil filter
- Remove bolt from the clamp that holds down the trans cooler lines at the engine crossmember
- Slide in the header from the bottom.

Driver side:
- Removing the starter should not be necessary, but all installs are different.
- Remove the two bolts that connect the lower steering column shaft to the rag joint at the steering box and move the shaft out of the way toward the inner fender.
- You may need to remove the rod that goes from the column down to the transmission. With my Dougs I didn't, but with my old Heddman's I had to remove it and flip it over.
- Install from the bottom

It's really not that hard. Just be patient and if you can get a friend to help, you've got it made.
