Major Oil Leak!

Now sorting out the issue with the dip stick tube and the Service Engine Soon Light that came on yesterday.
 
Dip stick tube and everything else sorted out. Still have the service engine light, but also noticed that transmission is slamming into gears going front both drive and reverse. Going to check the fluid level tonight, maybe that has something to do with the light. But so far no more oil leak!
 
Alright! It's been a bumpy road but it sounds like you're making good progress. Finally down the short rows!

Do you have a scanner? I think you can borrow or rent one from Autozone. Check for trouble codes.

Once you've topped off the transaxle, if it settles down to normal, it may be a good idea to have it serviced, fresh fluid, new filter and whatever adjustments may be required.

Warming the car up now to check the level. Don't know when the trans was serviced last, but thinking I'll do the filter and flush with 131K on it.

Trans is a little better after adding a quart of fluid. Will do a flush and a new filter also. Get a reader or have the codes read. It stalled out pulling in to the driveway after a 5 min drive, but started right back up?? Maybe the code will have something to do with that?
 
Bought a reader and cleared the codes.....right now it's shifting in to gears smooth as ever. Light is off for now...will take it out for a short drive tomorrow afternoon..fingers crossed! Going to try to get an appointment for inspection on Friday...then I'm DONE! Whoot! Holding ALL fluids also! Now on to the next project...wife's 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan...lol!

ok....light came back on an trans started slamming in to gear again, so sure it's something sensor related now. Tonight I'll actually read the codes and not just clear them. My bad!
 
Pulled two code from the car tonight....P0108 and P0105. Double checked O2 sensor and it connected right. Haven't looked up other code yet. It runs better when I clear the codes with the scanner. But it comes back. will look them up in the morning.
 
105 and 108 are MAP related. Check your MAP sensor connections and your vacuum lines. You may have a loose wire or sensor, or/also vacuum leak or clog.

Thanks for the tip! Will check that out when I get home. Not sure where I came up with the O2 sensor....still getting used to the code reader I bought....
 
Thanks for the input! the vacuum hose to the MAP sensor was not connected and the end to the manifold was split also. Did a temp fix on the hose. Started her up...no codes....trans isn't slamming n to gear...life is GREAT right now. Inspection in the morning then I'm DONE! Will replace the cracked hose later tonight. Don't want to half ass things anymore!

Thanks again for all the help guys.....got to drive it more for all the emission monitors to kick in and a tire before it will pass inspection. Think I can handle that!

I think you'll like driving it. If it's like mine, it'll be a smooth and responsive ride. Surprising for a car that size.
 
Alright folks...still got 3 readiness monitors pending and they won't inspect it unless there is only 2 pending!

No error codes, but pending monitors are; Evap System, O2 Sensor and Catalyst.

Beside just driving it more (not inspected) is there a way to get these to kick in? What type of driving is required to get them to turn on? I've driven the car to work many times and can't seem to get them to turn on.
