Metal against metal noise

My 2001 firebird started making a weird noise last week, like metal scraping against metal somewhere near the right front tire. When I go slow it is louder but when speeding up it seems to go away. I don't think its the brakes because when i push on them it doesn't make any noise. Thought it might be a rear transmission mount has anyone had similiar problems?

I am going to go with brakes. There is a little metal tab that will scrape on the rotor to tell you the pad need changed. Could also be a wheel bearing . Jack the car up and see if you can rattle the wheel any . But i would say brakes. I dont see how it could be a trans mount making sounds at the front tire.

If it is your brake wear indicator, it will go away when the brakes are applied.

Thank you, that was the exact problem, the brakes!!!
