What does it take to get an 01 Trans AM ws-6 into the mid to low 11's.

Really good traction, low gear ratio, lots of power, and a decently skilled driver. a stock TA only had 325 HP, not shabby, but not enough, bump in up by 150-200, use some nos, and have some good drag radials, and it wont be to hard.

NOS, is cheaper, and produces as much or MORE power!!!!!:D

re question

i should of worded the question different. i want to do an na motor not forced induction or nos sorry. personaly i think all motor just is more creditable not nocking nos or forced induction.

A man after my own heart. Well, I guess you would go with the standard mods, ported heads, bigger cam, more compression, probably bigger injectors, longtube headers, exhaust, suspension mods and good tires. If you have to go through emissions you won't be able to go to far on the cam which will make it harder to get into the mid 11's. You might want to think about bore and stroking the engine. More cubes help alot! Also you will need to beef that rearend up or go with a 12 bolt with 4.10 gears.

Is this an auto or stick car? Stick car is gonna need a better rear end to launch hard on. The 10 bolt may hold for a little while but can easily go on the first hard launch. The stock suspension will do with the exception of relocation brackets. Full bolt-ons with an F13 cam and the right tune can hit the mid 11 range with 15in DR's and a good tune.Heads will get you to the lower shelf of 11's.

With perfect driving you can already be in the high 12s, so.. Mid 11s is a great goal, however.. Keep us posted!

it is a stick car. what i am really going for is i went to auto school in indy. i had a budy who had an srt4. we agreed in 3 years i would go down for there midnight madness and race. i called him the other day and he has done a lot of work and has run an 11.2. so its sounds like i have a little work ahead of me but not to much nothing i cant do. thanks

No problem. You're deffintly going to need 15in wheels and a 12 bolt/9in/Dana 60(all available aftermarket) along with good sticky tires to run that deep into the 11's or tens. Stock clutch is out of the question here too. Look into a McCloed or Ram dual disk. I'm still weary on my SPEC 3 holding up to my new mods.

I'd suggest giving Texas Speed and Performance or Futural Motorsports a call and tell them what you look to do. Both have great H/C setups and with a good diet 10's are doable N/A.

You dont NEED 15 in rims, as long as you have the right rubber to the ground, ie- My friend has an 11 second 99 camaro with the 17 in factory tires on it, but, what he did do is he got the rims widened to hold his 325/40/17 rubber. It only costs 150 a wheel to widen.

True. You don't NEED 15's but a stick car is a real PIA to hook well with that little of sidewall. I know of alot of nitrous cars hitting 11's with the 17's and a few auto's N/A that are pretty deep. Not saying it can't be done cause it has but that extra sidewall really helps them dead hook in the powerband.

then you lose a lot of your handling. I thing this guy wants a daily driver, not a strickt drag car. Just my opinion. Go 17 or bigger.....gives a better exuse for MORE POWER:D youll need it to hit 11s
