my 1996 pontiac grand am se wont move out of park.?

my car is stuck in park and i cant move it out. Also i notice my brake, abs and check engine lights are on but ive been having electrical problems with my dash board to were none of my gauges work and most of service lights stay on. But before this problem my check engine , brake and abs lights wernt on. what should I do ?

check for a blown fuse to start with. It wont come out of park because when you place your foot on the brake pedal it completes a circuit allowing the shifter to move.
