my 1996 pontiac sunfire wont start and before it was over heating?

My car is was overheating and someone worked on it changed the plugs and put a new theromostat on it. Now it wont even start. We charged the battery and a new guy told me it might be my coil pack. Would this be the reason my car was overheating too

the engine starts to come on it really wants to. the plugs arent sparking right someone told me.it was leaking antifreeze only when it got hot, we put a new water pump in it and everyone doent seem to think thats what it is. but yeah it wants to come on the battery is charged anything else u need to know

the guy also just changed the plugs put better ones in that doesnt need gapped. Hes gonna check the wires to make sure they arent twisted...tomorrow

put in a new set of the original type of plugs that require gapping and try starting the car.

Coil pack has nothing to do with the Cooling system as any engine will run without a cooling system but not without a Coil.
Overheating could be from:
Blocked cooling routes and/or blocked Oil passages in the Block.
Incorrect size of Radiator.
Defective Radiator cooling fan.
Blockage in radiator Vanes or Fins damaged.
Water pump defective or leaking.
Belt(s) loose or damaged.
Belt tensioner(s) defective.
Vacuum problem(s).
Incorrect or defective radiator cap or Thermostat housing cap.
Running just water or old Coolant.
Rust in cooling system from old coolant.

Some spark plugs are gapped at the factory while most need to be gapped.
