It could be the struts but also check the sway bar links.

Either somone change the ignition cylinder and key or the door cylinder is broken. Does the key open the trunk?

Are you sure the light isnt for indicating low coolant level? Do you have the owners manual? This is a link to a 99 manual, have nothing older.

ok im gonna take a look at the sway bar links. i just purchased a door cylinder from ebay for $17. i guess il be using 2 keys from now on.

but still what could be causing a coolant light to go on when the coolant is full. could it just be a bad sensor?

Coolant Sensor?

hopefully... how much do you think it would cost me to get it fixed... should i even get it fixed i mean its an old car i know i wont be driving it for a while.

does a coolant leak effect the light? i think my coolant might have a slow leak.im not sure tho.

Well a leak would cause the fluid level to go down and eventually turn on the light.

yea then im positive its just the sensor. il get it fixed asap thank you for your help.. and i just found out it was my struts making the noise. any type of grease or anything i can put on there to stop the squeaking? should i just head to a salvage yard and replace them?

If the struts are making noise then I would replace them.

Yw. It might just be the strut mount bushings that are going bad, instead of the whole struts.
maybe.. idk tho cuz this car was sitting in a driveway undrivin for 6 moths b4 i purchased it..
