...then stops?whats wrong? I had low oil and when i added oil, It ran pretty good for a while then started to stutter and the mpg went down from 60 to 50 to a complete stop. The car wont turn on anymore due to the battery being dead, but when we jumpstart it same thing happens goes pretty good then stops. Im trying to figure out what can be done and how much?

Charging system trouble. Clean a tighten all the battery cables. Have the alternator checked. Weak batteries can also damage the alternator, but a bad alternator will not charge the battery. You can run off the battery for a while as it goes down ( except in fords), and then performance rapidly degrades to the very situation you had.

It sounds like you have a bad alternator. It's running off the battery and when it doesn't have enough juice to power your spark plugs, it dies due to lack of ignition. Remove your alternator and take it to Autozone or napa and they'll test it for you. Your battery is most likely dead because of this too. After being over strained, sometimes they wont take a charge. Hope this helps out.

First, clean the connections on your battery as well as the connectors to the rest of the electrical system.
Second, charge your battery.
